This course, running on a Thursday is designed to kickstart your career and provide the necessary skills and techniques for you to become a qualified hairdresser. Learning takes place in our commercial salon, giving you real customer experience, alongside theory and practical sessions. You will also be required to complete an industry placement during your studies, something we will help support you in finding and taking part in.

Throughout the academic year, you will complete minor assignments and projects that will help guide you towards and give you the confidence to complete the course. Your final qualification will then be based upon assessment of practical skills in a salon environment, completion of online multiple choice exams, assignments, presentations and observations of skills.

Progression

This course will enable you to gain employment in the hairdressing industry as a junior stylist to develop your skills further. Alternatively you may wish to progress onto the advanced hairdressing course at the college.
