“Malaga was a great experience for me, I really enjoyed going abroad with my mates and socialising with them in a different environment. It was also really good to be in a different country without my parents. As a footballer training with an ex pro goalkeeper who is now a coach was an amazing experience, learning new styles of football which I can takeback to England and use there. Watching Malaga fc was amazing as I got to see how different the Spanish fans are to English fans. Going into the town centre was good as I got to see all the different Spanish culture and all the great views. We had the chance to see the cathedral and the market which was a fantastic experience for me and all the lads.” – Joshua Haddon, L2 NCFE Year 1 in Sport Coaching
Feedback from our students

“Malaga was an amazing experience for me. I really enjoyed going abroad and stopping with my friends, but also meeting new people from different cultures and countries. As a footballer, training with the experienced Spanish coaches was excellent as I learned a new style of football which I can use now that I am back in England. Watching the Malaga FC was also entertaining as got to see the passionate fans from our and the opposition team. Malaga was an amazing experience and I would definitely go again.” – Jayden Slack, L3 NCFE Year 1 in Sport and Physical Activity
The students played multiple football matches against various European football community groups. This challenged our students resilience, gave them confidence, new life experiences and allowed them to learn new techniques.

“This was my first ever time abroad and it was a great first taste at life in another country. Malaga presented me with an opportunity to play football abroad and against foreign opposition, whilst learning about the cultural differences between the U.K and Spain. It gave me an insight into opportunities to coach abroad and how that would look for myself if I was to leave the UK to coach elsewhere, which would mean having to adapt to a different style of play and learn another language to help communicate with the locals over in that country.”
– Jamie Mungate, L3 NCFE Year 1 in Sport and Physical Activity
