Health and Social Care Work Experience Week

07 March 2025

This week our Health and Social Care students took part in an industry-specific Work Experience Week.

The students enjoyed an engaging session with Chesterfield FC Community Hub, learning fun yet practical chair-based exercises designed to improve mobility in older adults.

They also developed vital First Aid skills with Bolsover First Responders and participated in a skills exchange with T Level Year 2 students, gaining hands-on experience in measuring blood pressure, peak flow, and temperature.

Meanwhile, our Level 3 Year 2 students were out on the wards at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, gaining invaluable real-world experience through their Cadetship placements.

All our students had the opportunity to explore future career pathways at the Derbyshire Joined Up Careers Fair, discovering roles in Allied Health Professions, Apprenticeships, and more.

To round off the week, our Level 3 Year 2 students took part in an insightful session with DANCOP, focusing on resilience and the exciting prospects of degree apprenticeships.

A truly enriching week of learning, skill-building, and career exploration!
